Wool - A Natural Material
Wool, which is the oldest known textile material, has many natural advantages. Not only is it warm, wool absorbs moisture very well - it can absorb up to a third of its won weight - without losing its capacity to warm. These are natural advantages that no synthetic material can offer.
Wool is found in many different qualities, which can be measured by gauging the thickness of the fibers. The finest quality wool is a soft, pliable material that feels good against one's skin. In our Ullfrotté Original (200 g/m2, 0.7 oz. ft), we use a fine thickness of fiber, 22 microns in diameter. In addition, the Merino wool that we use, famous for its quality, is superwash-treated to make it even softer.
