NOTE: Each client must keep baggage at a maximum of 44lbs (20kg), not including firearms.  Duffel bags are preferred.  Airlines restrict passengers to a maximum 11 pounds of ammunition.

DOCUMENTS

  • Airline Tickets
  • Passport + 2 copies. (No visa required for South Africa)
  • Travelers checks & US dollars (cash)
  • Customs registration of firearms, cameras, lenses, binoculars, etc.
  • Taxidermist shipping address and information (tags)
  • Copy of CITES permits if required for species hunted
  • 2 x copies of Weapons license
  • Important contact numbers especially medical insurance
  • Hunting quotation or contract

FIREARMS /BOWS

  • Big Caliber (.375 or bigger) - 60 rounds ammo; ½ (30) solid, ½ (30) soft fitted with telescope (4 x power) and sighted in
  • Medium Caliber (7 mm / .300) - 100 rounds ammo (softs) fitted with telescope (3 - 9 variable power) and sighted in
  • Shotgun (12 - 20 g) - 200 rounds
  • Hard gun case for shipping
  • Soft gun case for vehicle transportation in the field and air charters
  • Cleaning equipment and tools
  • Ammo carrying pouch

CLOTHING

  • 2 pairs light weight boots / shoes, comfortable and well broken in
  • 1 pair sneakers or sandals for camp
  • 4 pairs shorts / trousers (dark green and light weight)
  • 4 shirts (2 long sleeves, 2 short sleeves)
  • 2 jackets (one long sleeve / oilskin)
  • 2 sweaters
  • Rain gear
  • 2 hats
  • 1 down jacket/vest
  • 1 light windbreaker
  • Leather belt
  • Swimsuits
  • Hunting gloves
  • Scarves as required
  • Bird Hunters - 1 pair Wellington boots or waders

Three changes of comfortable hunting clothing is normally sufficient.  Informal wear in neutral shades i.e. khaki or dark green is recommended.


MISCELLANEOUS

  • Sunglasses and or shooting glasses
  • Binoculars
  • 1 small tape player or radio
  • Cameras, lenses & attachments
  • Film - suggest 64 and 100/200 ASA
  • Extra batteries - flashlights, cameras, etc.
  • Special alcohol (liquor)
  • 110v converter and adapters
  • Flashlights with extra batteries and bulbs
  • Pocket knife / Leatherman
  • Duck tape for closing gun cases, etc.
  • Books & magazines
  • Plastic Ziplock bags to dust proof / waterproof cameras, etc.
  • Wet wipes

PERSONAL TOILETRIES & MEDICATION

  • Chapstick or similar lip balm
  • Sun block
  • Anti-Malaria tablets
  • Extra pair or prescription glasses, contact lenses.
  • Aspirin or similar medication
  • Antiseptic cream
  • Band-aids
  • Anti-diarrhea pills
  • Anti-histamine
  • Sting Goes & insect repellent
  • Baby powder, foot powder
  • Prescription drugs
