Reindeer Hunts

REINDEER HUNTS:
The Icelandic reindeer only live in the wild and there have never been any domesticated reindeer in Iceland. There are only 300 hunting licences issued yearly and most of them are allocated to local hunters. We are only able to receive 12 - 15 foreign reindeer hunters each year.

HUNTING SEASON:
The hunting season is from August 1st until September 15th with the prime hunting period being from August 15th until September 1st.

RIFLES:
For this kind of hunting rifles 6,5 - 8mm are most suitable. Semi-auto or pumps not allowed.

CLOTHING/TEMPERATURES:
Warm clothing and underwear, rain/wind wear and waterproof hiking boots. Temperatures can vary from 0° - 20° centigrade, but generally the climate is mild in August with an average around 10° degrees centigrade. Upon booking our outfitter will supply you a detailed "What to Bring" item list.

Reindeer Hunting Prices
All prices quoted in US dollars and subject to change. Prices listed are per person and include one trophy fee per hunter.

1 hunter	3 hunting days	$4,950.00
2 hunters	4 hunting days	$4,250.00
3 hunters	4 hunting days	$3,450.00

Prices Include: Visa, hunting license and weapon license, all transport in Iceland during the scheduled hunt, one professional guide and a 4 x 4 vehicle / boat for every two or three hunters, all equipment necessary during the hunt (except clothing, firearms and ammunition), full board and lodging from arrival until departure.

Prices Do Not Include: International flights, accommodations before or after the scheduled hunt, ammunition, alcoholic drinks, excess luggage on domestic flights, taxidermy service, packing and shipping of trophies (if not brought home by the hunters themselves).

Non-hunter Daily Rate: $380.00 US
