The hunting season in New Zealand depends on the species you wish to hunt. Some seasons begin as early as February, others not until July with several seasons overlapping. ALL OUR HUNTS ARE FREE RANGING, FAIR CHASE hunts with either rifle or bow. Most of you are familiar with the meaning of free ranging, but may not be aware that in New Zealand the term "free ranging" does not have to be synonymous with extremely difficult. By utilizing helicopters and four wheel drives, it is possible for even those in moderate physical condition to enjoy a successful and rewarding hunt. Flying by helicopter into the New Zealand Southern Alps to hunt

red stag, wapiti, tahr or chamois is by far one of the most exhilarating experiences on offer in the South Pacific. To achieve the very best, in terms of hunter experience and trophy quality, our outfitter has teamed up with landowners who offer us unrestricted and sole access to large tracts of wilderness lands (some in excess of 200 square miles). These areas provide high quality trophies. We have single specie and combination hunts available and can arrange packages for all species. Our hunting experience is provided in three neighboring countries, that is, New Zealand, Australia and New Guinea. In some instances the hunting areas are restricted to bow hunting. A rewarding experience can also be provided to those hunters who would prefer to hunt in a safari park (enclosure), especially if limited by factors such as time constraint. This is usually for red stag with trophies ranging in size from 260 - 400 plus SCI.
Accommodations options include the outfitters home in Queenstown (New Zealand), hotel, lodge, cabin, mountain hut or tent camp, and access to the hunting area is by 4x4, helicopter or fixed wing aircraft. Unlike other parts of the world, should non-hunting family members or companions be joining you, rest assured they will have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of activities. Separate tour packages can be arranged for the non-hunting partners or family. We usually arrange to meet up at some stage of the hunt. If we have spare time on our hunt extra trophies can be added for the relevant trophy fee. Alternatively trout, salmon or sea fishing could be another option. There is no extra cost for this service. Packages can be arranged to include all South Pacific's trophies. Time wise, hunting schedules can vary from five days to one month.
