Our operation in Manitoba is owned and operated by a well-known registered guide, trapper and outfitter. He has 30+ years of hunting, guiding and trapping experience in the Yukon, Northwest Territories and Manitoba.
Manitoba Bear hunts. Our hunting area is a vast wilderness of 2,000 square miles along Paint Lake Provincial Park. In 1990 this area was allocated exclusively for Spring/Fall trophy hunts; approximately half of this area has never been baited or hunted before. We recently built a remote cabin in the wilderness, and both spring and fall baiting resulted in 100% bait hits. One can be assured of steady bait hits and trophy animals in this vast wilderness.
Hunting Bear in Manitoba, Canada. While hunting and trapping, the outfitter is able to observe the Bear population, the habitat and heavy animal concentration. During the summer he baits right up to freeze-up; this keeps the animals denned in the immediate area. For baiting he uses on of the bear's favorite food sources - beaver carcass, saved up from the winter/spring trapping season. The results have paid off, with one hunter getting a 7½ year old within 5 hours of his arrival, and another hunter shooting a 13½ year old on the second night of his hunt. During the last two years we have taken some of the oldest bears in Manitoba; a 29½ and a 22½ year old. These have squared up to 7½ feet.
We believe there is an advantage in hunting a new area...the Game Source has not been depleted...and the big animals are still out there.
