Kodiak, Afognak and Raspberry Island
We offer fully guided, one on one, fair chase hunts for Kodiak Brown Bear, Roosevelt Elk and Sitka Blacktail Deer on Kodiak, Afognak and Raspberry Islands.

After picking up tags, license and last minute supplies in Kodiak you will charter a float plane for a 20 minute flight to our camp. Most hunts are conducted out of our main facility at Port Vita on Raspberry Island but you may also choose to hunt from a more remote fully equipped tent camp. Power boats are used to travel to different sites within our area and to scout the miles of shoreline.

The Port Vita Camp is a year round facility located at the site of an old herring oil refinery built in the 1930's. Some of the buildings have been remodeled and are still in use today. Comfortable accommodations are provided in houses or cabins. There are hot showers, indoor toilet facilities and even banyas (Aleut Saunas).

This Outfitter/Guide started coming to Kodiak to hunt in 1985 and has been guiding hunters and fisherman on the island since 1988. He obtained his Registered Guide License in 1991 and in 1994 purchased the facility at Port Vita on Raspberry Island, in the midst of his hunting guiding areas. Together with his other guides and staff, this Outfitter will work hard to make your hunt successful.

Kodiak Brown Bear Hunts
(15 day permits - Spring and Fall)

Spring Hunts: (April 1 - May 15)
Bears leaving their dens, hides usually in prime condition, long daylight hours available, weather unpredictable with rain, snow, wind, fog.

Fall Hunts: (October 25 - November 30)
Bears leaving salmon streams moving to higher elevations, shorter daylight hours, cooler temperatures, weather unpredictable.

Roosevelt Elk
(9 day permits - September to November)
During and after the rut with the elk moving about, usually at higher elevations.

Sitka Blacktail Deer
(Tags available for purchase - August through December)
Best hunting in October and November during the rut.
