What To Bring Hunting in Tanzania

NOTE: Each client must keep baggage at a maximum of 44lbs (20kg), not including firearms.  Duffel bags are preferred.  Airlines restrict passengers to a maximum 11 pounds of ammunition.

DOCUMENTS

  1. Airline Tickets

  2. Passport and Visas + 2 copies of each.

  3. Health certificates for Yellow fever and Cholera

  4. Travelers checks & US dollars (cash)

  5. Customs registration of firearms, cameras, lenses, binoculars, etc.

  6. Taxidermist shipping address and information (tags) & Broker's info (port of entry).

  7. Copy of CITES permits if required for species hunted

  8. 2 x copies of Weapons license or ownership info

  9. Important contact numbers especially medical insurance

  10. Hunting quotation or contract

FIREARMS /BOWS

  1. Big Caliber (.375 or bigger) - fitted with telescope (4 x power) and sighted in 60 rounds ammo; 20 solid, 40 soft   

  2. Medium Caliber (7 mm / .300) - fitted with telescope (3 - 9 variable power) and sighted in 100 rounds ammo (softs)   

  3. Shotgun (12 - 20 g) - 200 rounds

  4. Hard gun case for shipping

  5. Soft gun case for vehicle transportation in the field and air charters

  6. Cleaning equipment and tools

  7. Ammo carrying pouch

  8. Copy of Ownership of guns

  9. Trophy Tags

  10. Spare telescope and mounts

CLOTHING

  1.  2 pairs light weight boots / shoes, comfortable and well broken in

  2. 1 pair sneakers or sandals for camp

  3. 4 pairs shorts / trousers (dark green and light weight)

  4. 4 shirts (2 long sleeves, 2 short sleeves)

  5. 2 jackets (one long sleeve / oilskin)

  6. 2 sweaters

  7. Rain gear

  8. 2 hats

  9. Leather belt

  10. Swimsuits

  11. Gloves & scarves as required

PERSONAL TOILETRIES & MEDICATION

  1. Chapstick or similar lip balm

  2. Sun block

  3. Anti-Malaria tablets

  4. Extra pair or prescription glasses, contact lenses.

  5. Aspirin or similar medication

  6. Antiseptic cream / Cortisone cream

  7. Band-aids

  8. Anti-diarrhea pills

  9. Anti-histamine

  10. Sting Goes & insect repellent

  11. Baby powder, foot powder

  12. Prescription drugs & broad based antibiotic

  13. Eye drops

MISCELLANEOUS

  1. Sunglasses and or shooting glasses

  2. Binoculars

  3. 1 small tape player or radio & Dictaphone for recording journal

  4. Cameras, lenses & attachments

  5. Film - suggest 64 and 100/200 ASA

  6. Extra batteries - flashlights, cameras, etc.

  7. Special alcohol (liquor)

  8. 110v converter and adapters

  9. Flashlights with extra batteries and bulbs

  10. Pocket knife / Leatherman

  11. Duck tape for closing gun cases, etc.

  12. Books & magazines

  13. Plastic Ziplock bags to dust proof / waterproof cameras, etc.

  14. Wet wipes
