THE NORTHWEST TERRITORIES You will depart from Cambridge Bay continuing on with a short seaplane ride to the northwest arriving at our Arctic lake lodge. You will fly over ancient Inuit archaeological sites. Numerous herds of muskox are always spotted en route. A pair of nesting tundra swans can be seen on many of the small ponds and lakes. You're at the top of the world in Arctic Char Country! Lodge location.This Arctic lake lodge has been in our Outfitters family since it was founded in 1971. The lodge has flourished as one of the worlds best Arctic Char and Lake Trout sportfishing destinations. Over the years many IGFA line class records have been caught and released. Being a family business all of the sons have spent many summers in the arctic and the only daughter has helped out for almost 20 years. The fine traditions and quality of service originally set out are proudly carried on through the generations. When you join them for an arctic adventure; be it sport-fishing, sport-hunting, canoeing, or just for a naturalist experience you can be assured that they will do their utmost to provide you with an unforgettable trip of a lifetime! This is a fish that just has to be caught personally to be appreciated. It is one of the reasons that our loyal guests return year after year. ACCOMMODATIONS An abundance of wildlife including the prehistoric Muskox and the Perry Caribou can be seen within easy walking distance from all of our camps. HIGH ARCTIC MAIN LODGEThe main lodge is located on Merkley Lake. This system is over 45 miles long with plenty of rocky shoals, sand bars and hidden bays to keep any angler busy for a lifetime. The lodge accommodates up to 12 guest in 5 heated cabins. Float planes are based at the lodge for the exclusive use of our guest and trips to hotspots can be arranged daily. OUTPOST CAMPS Both of our Outpost camps are professionally guided and equipped with Lund boats and Mercury motors. They are staffed by friendly, knowledgeable guides who are only too happy to put you onto the big one. Each camp is located in a prime spawning area enhancing the chance for the big red belly. NANOOK LAKE OUTPOST CAMPThe junction of the Nanook River and Nanook Lake creates a wonderful back eddy and drop off. This is a favorite of many of our guests as each year it consistently comes up with Trophy Arctic Char in the 15 - 24 pound range. This outpost camp has accommodations for only four guests per night and two guides. HADLEY RIVER OUTPOST CAMP Situated on the shores of the Hadley River even the most ardent fisherman will enjoy the serene beauty of this setting. You will find Trophy Arctic Char and Lake Trout fishing just a hundred yards from your cabin. This is one of the best Silver Char fishing spots in the world. Again only four guests per night visit this outpost.
