In-between hunts we stayedin not a 5 star but a 10 star hotel, the Sheraton Addis Aba. It is the finest hotel we have ever stayed in anywhere and at a reasonable rate.
We hunted high in the highlands and got a HUGE Giant Forest Hog. It will score high in the Safari Club International record book. The food and service was great. The people loved our PH Lonnis and informed him where our Hog was eating in the middle of the day!
We hunted in the Danikil Desert from a fine desert camp located on a high hill. I got a fine Lesser Kudu, a beautiful Gerenuk and big Dik Dik.
The third area was near Lake Lagano where we were looking for a Greater Kudu in the mountains and where we stayed in a fine motel type establishment.
My wife went with me in the first two areas. She just loved Ethiopia and its people.
Dimitris has one of the best if not the best outfit in Ethiopia. He is honest and a great outfitter. We had no problems bringing in or taking out our hunting rifles as he and his men took care of all the details at the airport for us.
I felt sad as we left as if we were leaving a friend.
Funny it was cheaper going over there business class on Ethiopian Airlines than coach on Luftansa. We saved over $3000!
Again, it was a very memorable safari comparable to any of the many we have taken during the past l5 years. Thank you for recommending Dimitris to us.
Sincerely,
