The Dwarf Blue Sheep occupies areas below the forest line on vegetative slopes unlike normal Blue Sheep whose habitat is over the forest line on dry and rocky mountain. The body weight of the Dwarf Blue Sheep is only about half that of other Blue Sheep. They are distributed along the border of Sichuan province and Tibet. From the closest airport, it takes 2 full days by 4-wheel drive vehicle to reach the hunting area. Therefore a fly camp is necessary and due to the rocky slopes, the hunt is conducted on foot.
