The Cobourg Peninsula is one of Australia's last frontiers. This is an area of stark red cliffs and rock outcrops at the edge of the Arafura Sea. Cobourg peninsula embraces exquisite virgin wilderness, protected coral reefs and marine life with relics of the Macassan trading days and is rich in Aboriginal culture. The first settlement was in 1827 at Raffles Bay and in 1838 Port Essington was settled - one of the unsuccessful attempts to colonize and develop the northern coastline.
For the past 25 years the outfitter we represent in this area has built up an enviable reputation as a specialist trophy hunting safari guide. He is the longest serving professional guide in Australia and offers quality hunts in various parts of the Northern Territory and on their Mount Borradaile concession. This outfitter can offer you Banteng, Water Buffalo, Wild Boar, Sambar Deer and Wild Goat hunts in either 4 or 8 day packages.
A short flight from Darwin is Maningrida, an Aboriginal community located on the banks of the remote Liverpool River. The main safari camp for our other Australian outfitter who is equally well respected, is based at Djinkarr. Djinkarr is some 20 kilometers south east of Maningrida, overlooking the Tomkinson River. Aboriginal people have lived on the banks of the Liverpool River for over 40,000 years. No permanent European presence was recorded in the region until 1957 when the community of Maningrida was established.
The community today supports a population of over 1300 with some 750 living in small remote outstation communities. Traditional pursuits of land management, ceremony, language and culture are well maintained throughout the region. Our Outfitter in this area offers quality hunts for free range wild game. Water Buffalo are the target species with Wild Boar and Scrub Bull also available. In the true spirit of "fair chase" hunting, hunt wild Asiatic Buffalo and Wild Boar in the spectacular setting of remote Arnhemland.
We offer hunting and fishing throughout the country, from the southern coasts of Victoria to the northern Goulburn Island, located north of the Cobourg Peninsula. It is our opinion that we represent two of the finest outfitters in the country. Both of these gentlemen have received numerous awards for their professionalism and service to the sporting community.
